Sydney’s Under the Blue Moon Festival

There are fantastic locations in the world for five-star hotels.  Sydney certainly has a lot to offer the casual and the savvy world travelers, with its wide diversity of people and attractions that speak to multiple populations.  Our hotels meet the highest standards in the industry, with all the usual unique details that put it in the five-star category.  World class cuisine, prepared by master chefs who are well-studied in classical and contemporary cooking techniques, will tempt you from our luxurious restaurants and 24 hour room service.  In-room entertainments are at a premium, and you’ll have access to all the latest communication technologies to keep you connected to the world at large, to any level you feel comfortable.  If getting away from it all is in your plans, this is an excellent place to hide from the world, and have new adventures in local culture.

Sydney has a lot going on, at any hour of the day.  There are splendid museums and other attractions for every member of the family.  The night life is famous, with clubs and restaurants, discos and bars, and a fantastic live music scene.  If live music and counterculture are an appealing combination, then by all means try to plan you’re trip to align with Sydney’s Under the Blue Moon Festival.  Now in its fourth year, this Halloween celebration caters to Sydney’s goth culture, so it’s guaranteed to involve a generous dose of spookiness and attitude.

Fashion shows and art contests are a big part of the Under the Blue Moon Festival, where local participants are encouraged to get creative with their obsessions with the dark and macabre.  The central attraction here, however, is of course the music.  The bands on the bill for this year’s show are Gpkism, Juke Baritone, the Swamp Dogs, The Horrorwood Mannequins, Chaingang, The Mansions, Lola the Vamp, Fancypiece, and Lunarmorph.  There is also a day at Market Square, with shopping, performances, and lectures that will surely put a thrilling chill in the crowds, and even a night of Grand Guignol-style theatre.  This may not be for everyone, but it’s surely a fantastic event for goths and vampires, and Halloween lovers, from all over the world.
