Prague by Night

I was going on a tour through most of the Central European countries checking out as many night clubs as I could, when I read about the night life offered in Prague, so I went off tour and booked a room at one of the Prague Czech Republic hotels for a few nights to see if Prague’s night life is what it boast to be.

With a little bit of luck I found some really good venues for my nights out in the city. I found some pretty interesting cafes, bars and pubs that ranged from enormous live music where the local and excellent international bands perform pretty much every night of the week. I bounced from Electro clubs, to some more laid-back bars and night owl cafes where, after spending most of the night at the clubs, I could sink into a sofa and still drink a pint or two of Czech pilsner.

My personal favorites were located in the center of the Old Town. They were easy to get to from my hotel. One spot I recommend not missing is the Karlovy Lazne, it’s the largest night club in Central Europe. It has five dance floors on four levels and a fantastic view of the Vltave River. Another great club is the Vertigo, the Roxy, which has free live music on Monday nights. I enjoyed the N11 for it’s hip-hop night. There were two venues that were upscale and set me back with the price of cocktails, I mean really expensive, so I recommend drinking before you go because they are good. The first was Bugsy’s and the second is Tretter’s.

I found though Prague is not all about techno clubs and dancing in skimpy outfits, not that I’m saying there’s anything wrong with skimpy. If your attire is more Converse than Gucci, you’ll be happy to know that Prague has a great alternative scene with live music and with great soundtrack which goes well with good company.
