U.S. Open Tennis Tournament Coverage On The Tennis Channel

Thursday, July 31st, 2008

I predict that Roger Federer will win this 2008 U.S Open tennis tournament. And I’m betting that the U.S. Open tennis tournament coverage will be fantastic because the Tennis Channel always covers all tennis tournaments superbly.

I’m also going to predict that several of the professional players from the Olympics will re-injure themselves and not participate in the U.S. Open. I predict that Roger Federer will also win the Olympics. I’m very excited about this because he is my favorite.

Rafael Nadal might surprise us all and win the U.S. Open and maybe even a metal. He certainly is good enough to but his favorite surface is clay. The U.S. Open and the Olympics are played on a hard court.

U.S. Open Tennis Championship Coverage Set to Be Intense

Thursday, July 31st, 2008

Tennis has been very exciting this season, mostly due to the Federer-Nadal rivalry. But what has also kept it exciting is the Williams sisters. Venus and Serena played each other in the Wimbledon finals, with older sister Venus eventually winning.

Nadal has been ranked number two in men’s tennis for longer than anyone in the open era. He is ready to knock Roger Federer out of the coveted spot and he is well on his way. Nadal won the French Open for a fourth straight year and then followed that up with a first-time win at Wimbledon. He defeated Roger Federer in both tournaments.

Following the Olympics this summer is the U.S. Open. Federer is determined to win and show the world that he is still number one. And Nadal is just as determined to show why he should be ranked number one. The U.S. Open tennis championship coverage will be exciting.

Summertime Fun with the Tennis Channel

Monday, June 23rd, 2008

I love the summer time. I like the time off and the traveling but my favorite part of it all is tennis. I love to play and I love to watch. Wimbledon is starting this week and I cannot wait to see if Roger Federer defends his title. I think his nemesis Rafael Nadal wants to win it badly also. That should make for an interesting tennis tournament. I really like Federer and I hope that he wins. I really want him to win the French Open before he retires so that he’ll have won all of the Grand Slam tennis tournaments.

Careers in Golf Bring Career Satisfaction

Friday, May 16th, 2008

There are many who try to enjoy their career but feel as if something is missing. Even though it pays well or is close to home, it still seems to lack in one area or another. Eventually, the dread of having to face the job on a daily basis will begin to creep in. This is about the time an individual begins to wonder about careers in golf and whether or not they have what it takes to succeed. Venues such as San Diego Golf Academy allow students to take on a strong academic curriculum that prepares them for a career that is finally truly fulfilling.

With nearly forty thousand golf courses in the United States alone, golf jobs have become extremely popular and viable. Though there can be any number of professions in the golf industry, it is important to combine one’s strengths with a sincere personal interest. For some this can mean teaching golf, for others is can mean managing a top-notch golf course. Whatever the decision, it is well known that people who enjoy their line of work are happier and enjoy a life of superior financial stability.

French Open News Coverage is Good because of Athleticism

Tuesday, April 15th, 2008

The French  Open tennis news coverage is always wonderful because the clay court is so difficult for so many players to win on. If the coverage were not good, tennis fans would not be able to see how the court affects the individual players.

The forward velocity of the ball is reduced more than on grass, hard courts or indoor carpet. This allows the player more time to get to each ball, thus reducing the effectiveness of a power game. Many tennis superstars cannot master this type of game and do not ever receive the French Open trophy. Serve and volley players are least effective on this type of court.

The French Open is the second in the Grand Slam tennis tournaments. First is the Australian Open, followed by the French Open. Next it Wimbledon and last is the U.S. Open. The Australian Open is played on a hardcourt. Hardcourts are usually made of cement or asphalt and are medium to fast. The Wimbledon is held in England and is played on a grass court last is also very slow. The U.S. Open is played on an acrylic hardcourt, which has slightly less friction and produces a lower bounce compared to other hardcourt surfaces.

Wimbledon Schedule Makes Time for Sight Seeing

Thursday, March 20th, 2008

I get to go to the Wimbledon tennis tournament this year! I couldn’t be more excited than I am right now. I’ll have to get a Wimbledon schedule so that I don’t miss anything. Even if I can’t make it to a particular match, I can catch it on television.

But I have tickets to the most important matches and I’ll get to do some sight-seeing of England while I’m there. I’d like to see Big Ben and Stonehenge while I’m there. But of course I’m looking forward to seeing where the queen lives also.

I think that the athletes that win at Wimbledon are the most athletic because the court is made of grass and it’s harder to run and to serve on the softer ground. It changes the game a bit and it really shows who is prepared and who isn’t.

French Open Tennis

Tuesday, March 4th, 2008

Before we know it the French Open will be upon us again. Its held from mid May through early June. The French Open tennis tournament is one of the Grand Slam events and attracts the who’s who of tennis players.

The tournament is also known as the ‘Roland Garros.’ The event started in 1891 and is now one of the world’s leading tennis tournaments. It is a clay court tournament which means that the ball moves slower and bounces higher than grass or hard courts. Certain players have specialized in this type of surface and seem to hold an advantage over those who do not. (Pete Sampras, Roger Federer and Jimmy Connors have never won this tournament)

The home of the French Open is the Roland Garros stadium which is located in Paris, France.
