Using YouTube to Build Brand Awareness

Thursday, December 6th, 2007

There are many methods a company can use to create a positive brand image in the eyes of consumers, especially online.  One of these methods is the popular video sharing site, YouTube.  Just within YouTube there are multiple ways to reach your targeted segment of customers.  One way is to create a video that will capture the attention of not only current customers but as many people as possible; this way a company can help increase the awareness about its brand to people who may have previously been unfamiliar with it.  The content of the video will vary with the nature of each business, but should be something that will be interesting, enlightening, or funny enough to be passed on from user to user.  A good example is the tutorial of its stock picking service that Gorilla Trades posted.

Another way to reach customers and create a positive brand image is using YouTube’s advertising offerings.  You can choose what demographic sees your ad and what time of day they see it, among  other helpful features.
